It took me about 2 minutes into this show before I was hooked…
Shark tank is a show featuring a panel of 5 investors with net worths each over $100 million (one guy is a billionaire) called “Sharks” that random people with business ideas approach, pitch and either get venture capital or not. Just to make it even more interesting they are not allowed to get less than what they went in there after or they get nothing lol.
I instantly recognised a few of the faces from those interviewed on the show “How’d you get so rich” that I also loved each with a distinct set of talents. There is:
Kevin O’Leary: Sold his educational software company to Mattel for $3.7 billion. This guy is a complete hard ass big on negotiating and calls it just like he sees it with no sugar coating at all. His personal life is quite a story as well, he asked his wife 5 times to marry him before she said yes and there were so broke at their wedding that they served pizza. Amazing story.
Robert Herjavec: Sold his first tech company for $100 million, has since sold another for $225 million to Nokia. Also has the largest private collection of Lamborghinis. Imigrated from Croatian and now owns his own private island a true rags to riches story.
Kevin Harrington: The infomercial king, his first company reached $500 million in annual sales. Well know for starting the infomerial industry 25 years ago. His company has seen and helped the launch of over 500 products resulting in $4 billion sales world wide. Also owns a cool mansion that where he holds massive parties of 500 or so people.
Daymond John: This shark founded the fasion label FUBU and has made over $6 billion in sales. Known as the “Godfather of Urban Fashion” which due to his experience in the industry brings distibution and manufacturing skills to the table. He is also a marketing and branding genius, very interesting guy to watch and get his perspective.
Barbara Corcoran: Representing the female side of the fence Barbara has a $5 billion real-estate empire which she started with a $1,000 loan. Getting straight D’s at high school she had 20 jobs by the time she was 23, a true self made business woman that learned the old school way with a bucket load of blood, sweat and tears.
Awesome awesome show very much recommended if you plan to be rich one day and have ever wondered what rich people do with their money to make more of it, and more importantly what to look for.
Will be posting some leasons I learned watching this show and how you can use them in your business.
