Success leaves footprints!

My philosphy is model what is working right now. When ever I decide to do something I will always model what is working. I’ll call people up, ask friends, analyse their business and leverage contacts. That allows me to find out as much as possible to increase my chance of success.

I look at it like stacking the odds in my favour. I will give you some examples of modeling to help you with your business and life.

My main focuses are internet marketing and outsourcing. If you look at a lot of the famous internet marketers you’ll notice they do things very similar. Their sales letters look similar. Their business models are similar.

Why?

Because it works! You dont need to reinvent the wheel… model what is already working. Stand on the giants that have come before you.

Modeling Lead Generation

Always look at the competition – one of the ways I do it is by doing a google search and looking at a few of the paid advertising sites.

After a while you can tell just by looking at it who has tested their sites and others who dont really know what they’re doing.

Find the sites that have tested their sales page / squeeze page. I look at what bonuses they offer. I read through their sales letter, look for common objections and how they overcome them, pricing structures, upsells and guarantees.

I then take notes on the headline they use. The headline is important and has a HUGE impact on the conversion.

I have doubled conversion just by changing the headline. I have heard stories of people increasing their conversion much more than that just by testing their headline.

The rule is, always be testing.

After doing my research on other successful sites I then go and create my own similar lead generation site. I then keep testing and testing to keep improving conversion.

Modeling Outsourcing

This one isn’t as easy to do because you can’t really see what people are doing from a day to day basis. To fast track my outsourcing skills through modeling, I bought a heap of outsourcing courses. The reason I did that was because that way I could learn from people who already had experience with outsourcing.

I completed the courses and started outsourcing. I highly recommend you look at the outsourcing posts on this blog. I cover tips on outsourcing that has saved me thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time.

Another way to model is by asking friends and interviewing experts who are already doing it. The question I like to ask is, “What was you biggest mistake with outsourcing?” and “What is your biggest tip for outsourcing successfully?”.

Outsourcing takes practice, I have learned from many mistakes and share them on this blog to help others so they dont make the same mistakes.

Modeling Product Creation

My coach really drilled this into me. He said to me – if you create a manual or report from scratch you’re an idiot. Product creation is easy when you model.

Let’s say you want to enter a particular niche…

You buy the top products in that niche and go through them. Then you have a guide for your own product. Do some research and find out what is missing from the products.

Rewrite the best parts of the products plus include content from your market research. A lot of products are the same just re written in a different style and presented in a different way for certain target markets.

Modeling Businesses

I have explained how to model some online businesses. Obviously you can go deeper by looking at their follow up process. Also look at their auto responder emails, upsells etc.

When it comes to offline businesses, I have found the best way is to ask them how they got to where they are. Now this needs to be done tactfully and doesn’t always work. You need to add value in some way – always make it win win.

If you’re looking to start an offline business, Id recommend working for a similar business FIRST. That way you can see how the business is run, the systems they use.

You will also be able to tell if you like it or not. This alone can save you a lot of time and money.

Where can you use this in your life?

These examples are just some of the modeling I have done in the past. You can model anything. Decide on the result you want, find out who is doing it, model what they did / are doing, and go for it.

I hope this opens your awareness up and makes moving forward a bit easier for your future endeavors. Model what works and enjoy the process!

Have fun with it, take massive action and get results!

Enjoy
