I outsource a lot! It saves me time and I get more man hours in a day. Basically anything I dont want to do – I’ll outsource it.
When it comes to creating a product there are smart ways to do things and not so smart ways to do things. For example, in my opinion writing a book from scratch is stupid.
Why? Because you need to model. Model what works all the time!
If you decide to create a product for a certain niche. Here is how you create your product.
How to effective create an ebook
You buy the top ebooks on that niche, get someone to rewrite what is good then make your product better by adding in extra sections that you found out through doing extra research.
So you combine all the best parts of the top then adding extra things they didn’t think of including.
How to effectively create a training manual
If you decided to create some sort of training manual, again model other training manuals. Look at audio titles, chapters of books aswell.
Personally I haven’t had much experience in outsourcing product creation. I’ve mainly used full time virtual assistants to do writing, website creation and repetitive tasks for me. I also hire many programmers to build me software and websites.
As for digital products it’s something I haven’t spent a lot of time doing. Although Mike and I are working on a product at the moment, I’m not going to say what it is for now – keep reading this blog and you will find out when we release it.
So how can you model what I’m doing?
Well here’s what I did. Mike and I opened up our mindmapping software (ConceptDRAW Office Mindmap). Brainstormed all the things we’d need to cover in the product. This was quite easy because we had already been through the process of doing it.
We then looked at similar products and modeled it to suite what we were creating. So then I put all of that into a word document.
All the main titles, the topics to cover and questions I’ve found.
Yes I could go and research it all, I have all the resources available to me. I’ve decided to do it differently. I hired someone who is an expert and very experienced in doing what the product is about. I am now paying them to do the research for me.
They’re writing information and doing research on the topics we brainstormed and saving me heaps of time. As I get my daily report (which is a very important tip on saving you time and money with outsourcing) I can read through all the answers and information which fast tracks my learning.
This way I can read through it and quickly brush up on little parts I dont know and also learn things I wasn’t even sure about.
It’s all about modelling and finding who has the answers. So I found an expert in the area im researching and paid them to answer and research my topics and questions. I can then combine their research with my own information to make it even better. That last part isn’t necessary – it’s just something I enjoy doing.
This is great even if you just want to learn how to do a particular task – you can even just hire someone to teach you! A lot of full time Virtual Assistants have already been taught a lot of the things internet marketers need to know. Leverage their knowledge and get them to teach you.
There is always something you can learn from someone.
So next time you’re a bit stuck and not sure about the answers or not sure what to do… hire someone who has experience to either do it for you, write information on it or teach you.
Simple and effective!
Enjoy!
