Have you ever had one of those moments where you reflect on your life for a second and think to yourself, “Damn I know a hell of a lot, so why don’t I have anything to show for it?”

How about on the flip side one of those moments where you say, “Damn I have been working so hard lately, why doesn’t it seem to be working!”

These are two very common senerios in the life of an entrepreneur yet they are two sides of the same coin.

I learned this lesson while studying dating and to this day I am still facinated by the phenomena called the information bias which in a nutshell states that humans will be bias to seeking more information than using reality and courage to help make them learn. Which leads me to a few models I have found to overcome this challenge.

1. Use a ratio and time yourself

Idealy to get maximum bang for your buck you want to be running at a 1 hour learning to 2 hours doing ratio or 1:2 this allows for plenty of learning time and more importantly action! If you ask anyone who is successful at internet marketing 80% of the advice will be “just do it” or a variation of that.

I currently run on about a 1:1 learning to doing ratio, one reason is simply because I love to learn new things almost like an addiction and another is that I am a HUGE fan of outsourcing the action part as much as humanly possible to virtual assistants allowing me to focus more attention of finding and uncovering new and fantastic ways to market online.

2. Plan, Do, Study, Act

Once you get the ball rolling along a bit this model starts to become useful and as the title implies you plan out the project, do what your plan says, study the results then act upon what your study has found. As a creator profile I find the time it takes for a whole cycle to complete rather frustrating and therefore rely heavily on my implementation channels to get the bulk of the work done for me, but thats a convertation best left for later.

Let me know with a comment if you have any additions that the group will find useful.
